Charity for lonely and unskilled people in the West Midlands seeks Trustee with legal expertise
We are a Dudley based charity – working across the West Midlands – whose aim is to reduce isolation and increase the participation of unskilled, lonely and vulnerable people so that they become more involved in community life and develop skills and attributes that help them progress in their lives and contribute to society.
What we are looking for?
We are currently seeking passionate, strategic minded individuals to join and strengthen our Board of Trustees. As a Trustee you will be involved in the governance of the charity, setting the strategic direction as well as supporting the Chief Officer. In addition to your statutory duties, each trustee should use any specific skills, knowledge or experience they have to help the board of trustees reach sound decisions. This may involves scrutinising board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with expertise in the following areas:
- Marketing and social media
- Social work
What is in it for the volunteer?
We are a small charity with big impact. You will be joining a relaxed and friendly board with clear aims and a shared mission. This is a great opportunity to be part of a passionate team and not only share your skills but learn new ones.
Attendance at monthly board meetings plus ad hoc phone/email contact.
