Chinese Arts Now seeks new Chair
Chinese Arts Now (CAN) is looking for a new Chair to oversee its Board of Trustees. Founded in 2005, CAN produces and presents contemporary Chinese performing arts including music, theatre, live art, digital arts and dance. In 2019, CAN launched CAN Festival, the first arts festival to showcase contemporary Chinese themes, perspectives and art forms. CAN has toured work nationally (Nottingham, York) and internationally (Edinburgh Fringe Festival, International Ping Pong Festival in Shanghai) and runs an artist development strand alongside public performances.
CAN receives regular funding from Arts Council England and is a registered charity.
CAN’s current Chair is due to step down next year having completed the maximum term allowed for a Trustee. We are looking for a successor with a love of the arts, a belief in the importance of representation, leadership experience, diplomatic and strategic skills, and the time and dedication to help CAN. We encourage applications from those currently underrepresented in the arts.
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis with a final deadline of Thursday 15 July at 12noon.
