Closing Date

Location

Time Commitment
6-8 hours a month

The Trustees of DGAT are recruiting for a Trustee to join its thriving family of Primary schools. This is an exciting opportunity to join and contribute to our family of forward thinking schools based in Gloucestershire.

A multi academy trust (MAT) is a charitable company limited by guarantee in the education sector.  Academy Trustees are both charity trustees and company directors of the academy trust. The board of trustees manages the strategic business of the academy trust and may exercise all the powers of the academy trust.

Established in 2012, DGAT is currently home to 17 primary schools located in a mix of rural and urban settings.  As a Trust we are boldly passionate about excellence in learning and are firm in our belief that every child has a right to experience success in an inclusive, caring and supportive environment.

DGAT is seeking to appoint a trustee with a diverse financial and/or legal interest and experience to develop and support the MAT’s strategic direction and vision. Trustees are expected to demonstrate key personal competencies including the ability to think creatively, influence, engage sensitively, appropriately challenge and make collective decisions.  Trustees have the opportunity to make a real difference to the children and staff under DGAT’s care and the satisfaction of contributing to the growth and development of this forward-thinking MAT.  New Trustees will receive support via an induction and Trust mentor.

Trustees hold an imperative governance role in the life of a MAT to drive strategic vision, have financial oversight and hold executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils.  Trustees are expected to attend 6 trust board meetings plus up to 3 committee meetings per annum, averaging at 6-8 hours’ time per month.
