Brixton Advice Centre seeks new Trustees
Brixton Advice Centre is seeking new trustees to lead one of London’s oldest advice centres into a new time of change, representation and growth. This a voluntary role that harnesses the power of professional, vocational or lived experience to boost your career skills and our charity objectives.
We have offered walk in services to the whole community since 1969 and in these Covid 19 times we have evolved to pioneer our groundbreaking Online Legal Clinic which won the LawWorks Pro Bono Awards 2020 Best Contribution category. We continue to adapt moving our services to drop in, evening sessions, collaborations with food banks and other organisations to reach the widest number of people in everchanging times.
Our mission to offer accessible free advice and understanding of rights around housing, debt, welfare, employment to shape and grow our community. We want to make sure all races, ethnicities, gender, family dynamics, ages, sexualities, disabilities and career stages are represented at board level as Brixton Advice Centre grows with its community.
We welcome interest from anyone who feels they would add to our Trustee board but skills or experience in the following would be a particular asset.
- Fundraising, both individual and with corporate partnerships
