Operating across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, with over 9,000 homes worth £520m and a turnover of £64m, we are a vibrant, dynamic organisation with a clear purpose to help people who are struggling to find a place to live. We help our customers to stay in their homes comfortably, so that they can live the life they choose.

The roles

The settle board is highly engaged, ambitious and well placed to unleash its potential following the appointment of a new Chair with a commercial background last year. Given the speed of change in the sector, the Board has recognised the need to ensure certain skills are prevalent around the board table, enabling it to be responsive and proactive in responding to challenges whilst continuing to drive forward.

We are seeking two board members who bring skills and expertise in one or a combination of the following areas: development, assets, social housing, governance and finance, in addition to:

  • A demonstrable track record of providing strategic leadership and direction to an organisation of at least comparable scale and complexity.
  • An independent thinker, who brings fresh ideas and is an advocate of new ways of doing things.
  •  Strong empathy with the social purpose of the organisation.

Whilst prior non-executive experience is not essential, one of the appointees will have non-executive credentials.
