We are looking for Trustees to join our committed existing team at Rebuilding Lives UK. We are a new charity founded by plasterer Naima Ben-Moussa to help domestic abuse survivors who have also suffered destruction to their living spaces.

What will you be doing?

Rebuilding Lives UK is a start up charity with three initial Trustees, including Naima Ben-Moussa, and we are seeking additional Trustees to complement the skills of the original board. New Trustees are asked to commit to serve for at least 3 years to help establish good governance, sound financial reporting and strategic planning for our mission but there is no maximum limit on the term.

Rebuilding Lives UK is currently seeking to recruit at least five further Trustees to cover the following areas;

  • Legal
  • Finance
  • Welfare and social development
  • Marketing and communication

Person Specification

  • Commitment to the Rebuilding Lives UK mission
  • Ability to provide constructive and pragmatic advice and support stemming from relevant experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Willingness and ability to give the necessary time and effort

Trustee positions are voluntary and as such are unpaid, however reasonable expenses may be reimbursed.

What difference will you make?

According to the Office of National Statistics 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men in the UK will experience domestic violence in their lifetime and the damage caused can be physical, mental, financial and emotional.

Bringing your help, time, knowledge and experience to the Board of Trustees will be invaluable in helping to grow Rebuilding Lives UK as a fledgling charity and enabling us to reach out and support as many beneficiaries as possible across the UK whilst also building on the charities existing fundraising base.

What’s in it for the volunteer?

Naima Ben-Moussa successfully set up Lady in Red Just Giving page to raise funds to cover the cost of repair bills for survivors of domestic abuse and the damage done to their homes. She has received significant media attention and support and the cause has continued to gain momentum and media coverage. This is a very exciting opportunity to join a committed and friendly team who are passionate about helping victims of domestic abuse and rebuilding their lives. You can make a very real and positive difference by joining the team.
