Our trustees are passionate about making clothing and textile education accessible to people, with a passion for providing opportunities to people that may face barriers to work due to caring responsibilities, disabilities or mental health.

We are seeking enthusiastic people to join us as trustees/non executive directors of a new exciting fashion and textiles education non-profit based in South London. You will help us take forward our online education platform and expand on our COVID emergency response projects, as part of our textile makerspace in the heart of Bermondsey, as well as aiding the organisation to transition into a charity.

About Almond Studio 

Almond Studio is a non-profit community-led fashion makerspace making clothing and textile skills accessible to people living in Southwark. Almond Studio runs an online learning platform alongside offline workshops and events. We were set up as a legacy project as part of the Made in Bermondsey project, funded by the Mayor of London’s LEAP Good Growth Fund.

We are looking for up to 5 trustees to take on the following roles and responsibilities; we are looking to recruit a spectrum of talent that can fulfil the following:

  • A treasurer
  • People manager/leadership
  • Governance and legal
  • Business development and fundraising

Required experience and skills

Professional knowledge or experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Legal
  • HR
  • Charity management
  • Making grant applications
