LGBTQ+ charity for young people seeks new Trustee – legal expertise welcomed

Closing Date
13 July 2022
Location
Ely
Time Commitment
Quarterly board meetings (evening)

We support the wellbeing and creativity of LGBTQ+ young people in Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and surrounding areas through information, support and groups. We build inclusive communities to tackle inequalities through consultancy, training and education to all sectors.

Join our board! We want to create an inclusive society where LGBTQ+ young people are healthy, successful and celebrated.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for two or more new Trustees to join our Board.

We are looking for some skills and expertise, but we’re also looking to increase the diversity of representation of the Board too. We’d like to hear from people with:

• Safeguarding experience
• Communications experience
Legal expertise
• Experience of using The Kite Trust services

We also would particularly encourage applications from those who are under-represented on our board compared to our service users and local communities including those who are:

• Trans, non-binary, gender diverse and gender questioning
• Disabled or living with a long term health condition
• Neurodivergent
• South Asian
• Eastern European
• Gypsy, Roma or Traveller

All Trustees are expected to be an ambassador for the work of The Kite Trust, which means being a proud advocate of LGBTQ+ rights and equality.
