Unlock – charity helping those with a criminal record – seeks new Trustee with law background

Closing Date
10 July 2022
Location
London
Time Commitment
Quarterly board meetings

We currently have specific skill gaps on our board and are keen to hear from candidates with experience in public law and candidates with charity finance experience who would be able to act as Treasurer.

Unlock has achieved a great deal for the people we support and that is testament to the talents of our dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and trustees. Through listening and engaging with people who face difficulties because of their criminal records we have an impressive track record of identifying issues, finding solutions, and putting them into practice. We also influence policy and create systemic change.

Whilst we are a small charity we punch above our weight; we’re resourceful, impactful and work efficiently with like-minded organisations so that, together, we can achieve our aims. We are widely recognised as the go-to organisation in this arena.

Whilst we are a small charity we punch above our weight; we’re resourceful, impactful and work efficiently with like-minded organisations so that, together, we can achieve our aims. We are widely recognised as the go-to organisation in this space.

We currently have specific skill gaps on our board and are keen to hear from candidates with experience in public law and candidates with charity finance experience who would be able to act as Treasurer.   For both roles, we’re seeking people with a professional qualification and significant practitioner experience in the relevant field.

We are committed to increasing diversity across the organisation, so it’s important to us that our board of trustees includes people with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Our trustee roles are open to applications from all, however, we particularly welcome and encourage applications from people who are from racialised communities, have a disability or are who are from a less privileged background. We are especially keen to appoint people who have themselves met with and overcome the disadvantages of having a criminal record.
