Home-Start Hampshire seeks new Trustees
Home-Start Hampshire is a pro-active family support charity delivering its services through dedicated, well-trained volunteers in: Gosport & Fareham, Havant, Meon Valley, New Forest, Rushmoor & Hart and Weywater (Alton/Bordon).
Currently we provide support to over 500 families each year and are looking for people keen to use their skills and experience to help us develop the work we do with families in crisis. Your contribution will be invaluable, providing a different perspective and insight into ways of supporting families in need.
We are moving into the next stage of our development with a focus on diversifying our income streams and expanding our support services to help more families and children. To do this we are expanding our Trustee Board and are looking for individuals with the enthusiasm, desire to help others and at the same time expand and develop their own skills.
The Trustee Team help to lead the Charity, making Strategic decisions and providing a “eyes on hands off” overview to ensure we always meet our legal and chartable requirements.
Our Trustees typically commit 6-8 hours per month, attending bi-monthly Board Meetings (normally held in Wickham, Hampshire), supporting one of our two operating committees (meetings held virtually) and participating in other activities to support the Charity and your own areas of expertise and development.
We are a company limited by guarantee (liability is £1 per member) so as a Trustee you will become a registered Company Director with Companies House and have the opportunity to develop into/ apply for specific roles within the Board (Chair, Vice-Chair, Co Secretary and Treasurer).
You will receive training, guidance and a mentor to support you in your role as a Trustee.
This role is voluntary and unpaid.
