Closing Date
30 November 2022
Location
Hampshire
Time Commitment
4-6 hours a month

From museums to galleries to arts centres, we manage and support 23 attractions across Hampshire and deliver county-wide outreach programmes that bring great culture to local communities. We also deliver a diverse range of wider social impact initiatives targeted at those who are most vulnerable or disadvantaged and would not usually have access to arts and culture.

The role

The opportunities

Due to retirement, we are seeking three new trustees to join our passionate and knowledgeable Board. Our meetings are a mix of both face to face and virtual.
We meet as a board six times a year and our meetings are a mix of both face to face and virtual.

We aim to have a diverse Board of Trustees that reflects the communities of Hampshire and surrounding counties, in particular; younger people, people from the LGBTQ+ community, people from Black, Asian and ethnic minority groups and people with disability.

First-time trustees with relevant transferrable experience are welcome.

A bit about you

You’ll make your mark by playing an active role and contributing to discussion and decision. You’ll bring vision, strong communication skills and specialist knowledge and experience to guide and enhance our strategic development. You may not have been a trustee or similar before, but you will have experience of working at a strategic level.

We are particularly interested in the following skills and experiences to enhance the existing portfolio of trustees:

  • Marketing
  • IT and digital
  • Commercial
  • Legal skills

You’ll be involved in reviewing board and committee papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, and providing advice and guidance on new initiatives and other issues in which you have specialist expertise.

You’ll strive to achieve best practice, ensuring we work within the legal and financial requirements of a UK charitable organisation and a registered company.

Support and training are available to help you settle into the role of trustee.
